Global Senior Leaders
As Senior Leaders, Dave and Shelley are experienced in training and developing teams and workforces to create positive change in their environments. They set up Global York in 2005 to be a resource to as many as possible; positively impacting the lives of those it comes into contact with. Dave has worked with charitable organisations for over 25 years, and in 1991 co-founded a children's home with clean water in Tanzania, which now looks after over 120 orphan children. Alongside directing Global, Dave also has a large and varied business portfolio with interests both in the UK and abroad. He's passionate about seeing individuals getting the most out of life. Shelley is the force behind Global Women and loves to see women empowered to reach their full potential. She has run numerous workshops and is a sought after speaker at women's events. Shelley is also a Senior Midwife at York District Hospital where she manages the Labour Ward. Competent at leading teams of people in a variety of settings, she thrives on helping people achieve their goals. They are both inspired motivational speakers with excellent communication skills, who are committed to helping people overcome circumstances to live their best life now and impact generations to come! Dave and Shelley have been married for 23 years and have three sons. They moved to York, from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire in 1999.
Global Leaders
Matt and Amanda are dynamic members of the senior leadership at Global. They're passionate about people and thrive on seeing positive change being brought to situations. A keen strategist, Matt's clear logical thinking enabled him to pioneer much of what Global now does and advise on the future of the organisation, whilst Amanda works alongside Shelley to design and deliver women's conferences and events. Both studied at Lancaster University, before settling in York. In 2004 Matt established Complete Change Solutions, a corporate life-coaching business. During the past five years, he has secured substantial contracts with companies including E-On, Norwich Union and Royal Sun Alliance. Great at networking and communicating, Matt's fresh and confident approach is a valuable asset to Global. Amanda is currently taking a break from working as a solicitor to look after their young family and focus on other projects. Friendly and approachable, Amanda mentors numerous girls and women, helping them to realise their potential. Matt and Amanda have been married since 2002 and have two small boys.
Heads of Global Lancs
Since Mark and Sam joined the senior leadership team in 2008 as Heads of Global Lancs they have brought life and energy. Their many years of experience with different types of people have convinced them that individuals transform in an atmosphere that's positive, affirming and energising. With their excellent leadership and inter personal skills they bring out the best in people around them whilst having fun along the way. Mark's strong family values and passion for 'extreme' activities mean that he's a great role model for men of all backgrounds. He leads his own building company and owns property in both the UK and abroad. Sam has had a breadth of experience and qualified from St Martins in Lancaster as a Youth and Community Worker. For many years she has worked with the youth services and in primary and secondary schools throughout Lancashire. She is a motivational speaker and has had many years as a singer and musician. Her creativity has led to innovative methods for impacting the local community. All this, plus her genuine care for people, makes her an inspiring person to be around. Since taking on Global Lancs, Mark and Sam have guided the organisation through major transition. They not only run a busy conference centre which hosts 'Mackies' Bar, but have also developed large volunteer teams. They have been married for 24 years and have two children.
Heads of Global York
In 2007 Rich and Jules joined the senior leadership team of Global and took on the roles of Heads of Global York. Between them, their passion, enthusiasm and creativity are crucial to the organisation's development and shaping of its future. After finishing his A-levels at York College, Rich trained for 8 years in entrepreneurial leadership. This has resulted in Rich setting up his own business alongside the running of Global York. Because he is seasoned in the rhythm and routine of the city, he is able to network with different groups and help bring success to the city. Rich's company, Infused Communications consults with organisations that are looking to expand their reach into the .com world and is based in the UK and America. Sought after as a motivational speaker, Rich is an inspiration to those around him. Jules is currently completing her medical training at Leeds University, which will result in her becoming a doctor. Her passion to help people through medicine is matched by her passion to see people transformed in all areas of their lives. In addition to this, she has a vibrant sense of humour. Jules is great at putting people at ease and creating an environment in which people can flourish. Married since 2005, Rich and Jules both grew up in York.
